This fellowships scheme may be of interest to network administrators and managers, it is possible that a fellowship could be used to support a placement with a UK university to develop technical and management skills around campus networking. The slight twist is that this call is actually for people in UK universities who want to set up such a fellowship with a fellow from a Commonwealth country. So if any one on the list is interested in this and has some good contacts within a British university, then this might be worth discussing with them.
As far as I know, fellowships have not been awarded so far in the area of campus or NREN networking but I suspect that an application with such a focus would receive a great deal of interest. Perhaps something with JANET or one of the regional network operators might be of interest to those working with RENs. You will need to identify a UK partner to take this forward. Closing date for applications is 30 April 2010.
