<div>The second edition of the Nigerian Network operators Group workshop and conference convened by the Nigeria ICT Forum of Partnership Institutions amd GDES ended last week end in Kano. It was a very successful event with a good participation of the higher education sector.

<div>The organizers have introduced two new tracks (strategic planning and network computing policy, and energy planning and appropriate power technology) to address strong local demand.</div>

<div>There is a strong commitment to make substantial progress in the establishment of a ngREN within the next 12 months. NOG workshops will also be organized at institutional levels, in various Nigerian campuses.</div>
